Restoring Access to Clean Water in Serere District

Akuoro Restore Hope Initiative – Uganda successfully advanced its commitment to safe water access through the drilling and installation of a community borehole in Serere District.
The project involved hydrogeological assessment, drilling, gravel packing, pump testing, and community handover. The new borehole now serves households that previously depended on unsafe water sources.
Access to clean water significantly reduces waterborne diseases, improves school attendance, and restores dignity—especially for women and children who previously walked long distances to fetch water.
Impact:
✔ Over 300 community members now access safe water
✔ Reduced risk of waterborne infections
✔ Improved hygiene and sanitation practices
We remain committed to expanding sustainable WASH interventions across underserved communities.
